To poke someone, simply go to their Facebook profile page and click on the drop down tool bar on the upper right corner of the screen. Click on the "Poke" in drop down list. You'll get a dialog box in return which confirm poking.

If someone pokes you, you can poke them back or to hide the poke. If you decide to hide the poke, it disapprs forever.You cannot poke the same person twice, unless the user has poked you back or hide your first poke.
